Hi, I’m Jerry Heary — founder of Motivating Wellness.
Through my experience in recovery, I’ve learned that lasting change doesn’t come from shortcuts or trends — it comes from doing the hard work, day by day. I know this because I was my first client. Before I became a Certified Life Coach, Personal Trainer, and Nutrition Coach, I had to rebuild my own life from the ground up.
Motivating Wellness was born out of that journey — from struggle to strength, from fear and doubt to confidence. Today, I help others find their own rhythm, create routines that work, and stay accountable to the goals they actually care about.
This work is deeply personal to me. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all programs. Every client I work with gets a plan that fits their life, schedule, and truth — whether that’s through movement, mindset, or nutrition.
I’m here to help you find your footing, push through resistance, and keep showing up — even on the hard days. If you’re ready for change, I’ve got your back.
Why do I do it?
Because I’ve been there.
I know what it feels like to be stuck, lost, and unsure where to start. I know how hard it is to rebuild — your body, your mindset, your entire life. And I know the power of having someone in your corner who actually gets it.
I do this work because it saved me. Coaching, fitness, nutrition and a new healthy routine — they gave me something solid to stand on when everything else felt shaky.
I was my first client. I learned how to show up for myself when it wasn’t easy. And now I help others do the same — not with judgment, but with compassion, consistency, and real-life tools that actually work.
Helping someone take their first steps, show up on their hard days, or finally believe in themselves again — that’s why I do it.
Because you’re not alone. And you don’t have to figure it out alone, either.

Both! If you’re in Los Angeles, we can meet in person. Otherwise, I work with clients all over via Zoom, phone calls, or text-based check-ins, depending on what works best for you.

Each service is customized, but generally includes:
Weekly or bi-weekly sessions
Personalized goal-setting and tracking
Fitness or nutrition planning (if included)
Accountability check-ins
Unlimited email or text support between sessions
We’ll talk through what you need and build a plan that fits.
